I remember there was a site that had plans to build a roller detent plunger for the gearbox.
Does anyone have a link to that site or can post the plans?
I am so deep into this gearbox now, I might as well go all out.

G'day Lee.
Found it. http://bsa-a10.hailwood.com/bsaimprovements.html
Have a good look at all the other info.
Cheers

OOPS sorry don't know why I left that, as it was,(not making much sense).
Right it works perfectly and I think you can put a bit more tension on the spring without making the change clunky.
Would like one for my other bike but haven't seen them advertised since I bought the first one, run's in my mind it came from Australia.
Just re read Musky#s post, would Beeza Bill be the originator
Yes ideal time to install one if your in there, I've a spare box I want to rebuild so might do it up over the summer and put one in if they ever appear again

For what it's worth, the other day I pulled the guts out of the box I'm running to replace a kick-return spring and investigate other stuff that will eventually surface elsewhere, and I've I think confirmed as I've suspected that it's an early box, and the detent plunger has a 'chisel' type profile, as opposed to a 'point' profile...as per pic.
I'm unsure if this is better or not *dunno*
