Title: Swing arm frame gusset

 Does this need to be repaired, or is this about how they came? This bike saw few miles, but it was not well taken care of from new. I just don't know how tight around the swingarm Spindle this hole should be.

G'day Lee.
It should be a nice slide in fit.
A machinist could make a thin tophat bush for that.

This often happens because the bike has been used without the spindle properly tightened so it swivels in the gusset rather than flexing the silentbloc bushes.

 Thanks guys, I just was not sure what it should look like. The frame on this bike was in the worst shape of any individual part. With the PO shaving things off,  drilling holes, and then "smoothing" the whole thing with 40 pounds of plastic body filler...

 I will fix this along with everything else this poor frame had done to it.

if you clean the hole up and apply some mig weld to the worn area you can relaim it as mig weld is suprisingly quite hard

Hi Coater, When you get it out (you will probably have to cut it out) look closely and you will see that the hole in the frame is worn on one side, so build the weld up on that side, if you get it wrong the swinging arm will be out of alinement.

There is some good posts here about fitting new bushers, would pay to look them up first before fitting new bushers as once you put the bushers in you can't get them out!
