Guys, further developments, 1953 a7 plunger.....  fitted a new advance/retard cable to the points cam ring and bike fires up and ticks over beautifully...BUT, backfires and cuts out as soon as soon as i open the throttle....Mag has nice fat sparks and pre monoblock carb has been thouroughly cleaned and checked    tearing my remaining hair out now.... HELP !!!

hi, i would check the ignition timing, plugs or possibly too rich or too weak when you open the throttle. you need to provide more info as it sounds like it was running ok once before.
