For the crank shaft I have and SRM sprocket retaining nut. How tight should this be when tightened up? Because there is no provision for locking it with a split pin as is the case with the original BSA nut. Can anyone suggest a torque figure please, and the same question applies to the clutch retaining nut. I can tell you that they were both very, very, tight when I removed them. I propose to use blue Loctite will this be OK?

I'm pretty sure the split pin doesn't directly lock the crank nut. I guess it's a safety feature designed to stop the nut coming right off and gouging the case.

If done up to the recommended 65 ft/lb it shouldn't work loose.
