Title: Swinging Arm Fuel/Petrol Tank Types Year 1962
Post by: PatM20 on 09.03. 2018 06:41
I am after an original petrol tank and seen some reasonable ones on ebay.

There seems to be three types 1) round badges and knee grips, 2) pear shaped badges and knee grips 3) plain - no badges or knee grips.

I wasn't really familiar with the plain tank, were these used much?

Regards

Pat

Plain tanks were generally used for competition where expensive badges are liable to be broken.
Then there was USA tanks, UK tanks & general export tanks.
Thus different country parts books will list different tanks

Thanks for this.

The plain tank was the one in the best condition. I think I will go for it.

Hi Pat
The plain tank is likely to from a B40? the outer shape is very similar
Underneath maybe different?? eBay descriptions are notoriously inaccurate  *razz*

Pear shaped badges & knee grips were the standard for your model.
