Title: Decent Rubber
Post by: Slymo on 15.10. 2018 00:09
Well Into the second half of this 58 SR rebuild and I'm looking for recommendations for a supplier of proper rubber for both foot pegs and tank mountings. I bought some in the past for a B44 that simply dissolved into dust in weeks and were clearly latex rather than properly vulcanized rubber.

C&D autos for foot pegs, the locally supplied ones I bought split during fitting  *problem*, the C&D ones didn’t, which is good start at least  *woo*

Top tube tank mountings I made by laminating old inner tube with glue, formed around a piece of pipe.

Try Jeff Hunter Engineering https://www.totalbikebits.com/product_locator/dealerdetails.php?id=195
I bought some tank rubbers from him for my Sunbeam S7D which were top quality and fitted perfectly although not cheap. The ones I bought from India on ebay may be ok for starting a bonfire but were absolute rubbish.

Thanks folks I'll give them a go. The inner tube trick is also worth a thought. Cheers S:)

We have a large range of rubbers to suit. Have had no issues with customers reporting splits etc. always recommend putting rubbers in/on with a bit of "Rubber grease"
