After Months of surfing the Net and you know where !!. Found some decent Crash bars *smile*.

I think your lens may be mucky. It's a problem with phone cameras; they get finger grease on the lens.
-
I think I'd like a set of crash bars, to save damage if I drop the bike.

I have an original set of Britax front crash bars on my A65 they are quite heavy, I did by a set of new crash bars at an auto jumble some years ago which I fitted to a A10 and they were really light may protect the bike from falling over but would not have withstood any major impact they were a copy of the original Britax ones. The originals do come up sometimes on ebay but usually the chrome is not very good.

The Crash Bars did save the day one day as my old Body lost balance when putting the Bike on the centre stand and lost control !! *eek*. They took the brunt and worked well *smiley4*.As for the phone lens, my fingers are always covered in oily residue *smile*

Crash bars look good. As do the indicators! What does the note on the steering damper say? Check oil return, drive on the right, buy milk?
*bright idea* *good3*
-
or fix kickstarter return spring ?? *whistle*

I run crash bars on my Guzzis - for more obvious reasons. Riding Enfield up in the Himalayas that were also equipped, and we took plenty of tumbles on - the bars tended to tip the bikes onto their noses. By the end of the week I don't think we had an unbroken headlamp between us.
It's all a bit of a trade off really I suppose.

Taking advantage of this topic, I don't really know what style of Bars I have on my 1960 GF.
They are identical to the ones fitted to my 1957 500 A7 I owned in 1968-70. I just loved them at the time. I dropped the bike on a muddy track and it slid for 10-15 metres with me trying to catch it. No damage though.
When I was restoring my A10, I spotted the identical set at Gatton Swap Meeting in Queensland. A Qld bloke was making them from Stainless Steel, so I just had to have them.
Can any members put their finger on the style.??
Cheers
Col

This is a photo of my 1954 A7 SA taken about 1957 with the original crash bars that came with it (fool sold it not long after *angry*)

Is that a drink and a chaser, or a cocktail?

Congratulations on finding yourself a nice set of crashguards! They look awesome!
I’ve always liked the idea of crash bars incase of dropping the bike or worsecase having an accident. Once the bike is restored they’re a great investment to protecting your love and joy.
Was lucky to have found original BSA rear crash bars, chrome will have to be redone and will look great.
Still haven’t found any original front crash bars yet. Only came across one on eBay probably back in 2015 and sadly lost through the bidding process.
Lucky for me, my wife found a set of NOS Britax front crash guards and gave it for Christmas of 2017.
They don’t look even though and will probably have them cut and welded before having them rechromed to match the rears.
Last year found an original hand rail and has the tabs facing up to be hidden under the seat. Always kept finding the older style with the tabs facing downwards and looks not to good on the bike. At least my wife can grab hold of something if she doesn’t want to hold onto me.

Hopefully now the pictures will load
