Was there a Superflash tank badge with Superflash script, or just the unscripted black and gold item with lightning bolt at bottom?
The black and gold item looks very similar to the later A65 badge.

Below from the advertising flyer shows the tank.
The catalogue also mentions a special Super Flash transfer.

Can't quite tell what the badge is from the photo
I did find another advert that showed the badge straight on. Unfortunately that photo was a bit unclear, couldn't really see what that one was either.

G'day Glen.
A bit hard to see but it looks to be scripted. Resto by Parker Performance. http://misterbsa.com/?page_id=86

I blew that one up and it is scripted. It says
" Gold Flash" . So I'm thinking that's not original.

Thanks for that Julian. We will need transfers too.
It's amazing that they are available for such a small volume motorcycle built 65 years ago.
We're still trying to figure out what that factory SF tank badge ( metal plate on side of tank) looked like.
Looking at the badges I now realize I have been improperly referring to the BSA Golden Flash model as a Goldflash.
Years ago a BSA owner heard me say " I would like to own a Golden Flash"
He immediately corrected me " It's GOLD Flash NOT Golden Flash!"
And just like him I been wrong about that ever since!

Actually it is both
BSA used the name Golden or Gold whenever they felt like at the time
I tried once to plot it out but there was neither rhyme nor reason to it.
Thought it might be a USA UK thing but they were called both in both markets
Right down to a catalogue listing Gold Flash while the factory price list calls the same model Golden Flash
When originally released it was plain Gold but that soon changed.
-
I think it may have been originally Gold as a reference to a Gold Star.

I've considered getting those A65 side panel badges for the tank on my plunger. They would need curving slightly. Don't know how that would go as they are pressed aluminium. The other thing is they do not have the words 'Golden Flash' on them.

When it was released the tank badge said "Golden", Trevor.

Britcycle supply in Nova Scotia, Canada list the original style Golden Flash tank badges.

Yep, went back through all of the literature and you are right Trev,
Golden Flash right from the start.
Would have put the right nut ( the big one ) that they started life as Gold but nope, Golden everywhere
Having said that I will find something without the en on it tonight.

I am having my bike painted in 'Polychromatic Silver Beige Pearl'. I love it, but the bike might be called 'Goldish Flash'? *smile*

Better than Goldfish Flash. *lol*
