Can anyone please tell me what socket size to order to remove this screw ?
Of all the socket sets that I have, not one will fit.
Thanks.

would guess it's a BA size, but not sure

Have the same problem. Molegrips seem to fit OK (be gentle)

Hi All,
Those studs are BA but usually either a 7mm or a 1/4Af will fit
There are two sizes

It's 4BA.
I have a 4BA open ended spanner that fits ok but can't get at it very easy so will order a socket.
Thanks for the responses.

I've ordered these, only a tenner. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LASER-TOOLS-6196-BA-DEEP-SOCKET-SET-1-4-DRIVE-0BA-TO-8BA-ON-SOCKET-RAIL/182342638336?epid=1144269113&hash=item2a7477db00:g:~HsAAOSwo4pYHFzY

If you have any wron bit left like this:
https://www.ebay.de/itm/13stk-Nusssatz-Steckschlussel-Torx-Stern-Bit-Socket-1-2inch-3-8-Zoll-1-4-Zoll-SS/143259521380?hash=item215aeed164:g:h3MAAOSwY8Nca5-O
you can drive it out with a punsh and use this. Its approx 6,3mm and will fit this screwhead

Roy, If you have no suitable socket to remove the points retaining bolt, does this mean the points have never been off to be cleaned and checked under your ownership? I hope you have not invested in electronic ignition when all you needed to do was give the magneto a bit of TLC. Or is there a further underlying fault?
I use a good old authentic Lucas Girder Wrench and a light touch.
Nice Jaguar, class axe.
Swarfy.

First time that I have ever touched them.
Got an intermittent misfire on the left side.
I have only rode the bike twice, got no confidence in it not breaking down.
I am hoping that the new ignition makes it more reliable.
Yer.
Got a few more.
