Title: Side stand length on plunger A10 frame
Post by: maxwelton on 10.08. 2009 23:47
Not to wear out my welcome with a million questions, but my bike didn't have a side-stand when I bought it, and what's on there now is from another BSA with a higher frame. The stand is too long and while I can use it if I find the right spot, on normal level pavement it's very precarious. I figured it's too long by about half an inch, but before I have it cut apart and re-brazed as a shorter length after guessing what it should be, can anyone measure their side-stand and tell me what you discover?

Otherwise, I'd pay a fair price for an original stand appropriate to my machine if anyone has one handy.

plunger stand approx 20cm 8'' from center bolt hole.

Don't know about quality, but looks good, & the leg could maybe be a direct fit on a plunger

Hm. That certainly looks like an easier solution. My current sidestand is a bodge anyway, so it can't be worse!
