Title: Rear Wheel Spacer

Hi, I'm half way through replacing the rear wheel bearings in a plunger.
There is a spacer in the hub and between the bearings.
This spacer (pictured) has a couple of interference fit star washer thingys pressed on it.
Are these washers supposed to reside at the very end of the spacer or are they supposed to line up with the locating pins in the tunnel. (to stop the spacer turning - maybe??)
It may not matter much but best to do it right first time.
Any ideas?? cheers

It is a rear hub bearing distance tube 67-6061
It will only go in one way round I seem to remember. Should butt up against both bearings.
Think its more to keep bearing from moving & grease in the right place.
Don't know how you could get them to end of spacer as they should be fixed.

Olev,
   I think the purpose of the washers is to stop the distance tube from falling downwards when you withdraw the spindle.They hold the distance tube roughly in line with  the bearings to make re-insertion of the spindle easier.
 I dont think its importatnt where they go along the tube.

I sort of worked that out, eventually.
It doesn't really matter if it had something to do with grease as I've used sealed bearings.
