Title: Its A Roller!!!
Post by: Miker on 12.07. 2020 05:54
Finally got the wheels sorted after months of waiting for parts. A few more bits to come so I can put the gearbox back together and then its onto the dreaded engine. I figured if I run out of money I can always whack some pedals on it and cruise around the block.  *smile*

G'day Miker.    Well, that certainly gets my vote.  All the hard stuff has been done, it's now easily moved from room to room to show off and at the stage where you're almost too scared to touch the pristine finish. For a moment I thought we were back in the Competitions Dept preparing for the  6 Day trial and Maudes Trophy........

Building engines is easy, getting them right isn't, so check everything, from scavenge pipe ball to rocker box nuts, if you get my drift.  Even specialists can have their off days, so check, check, take it slow, and enjoy the moment when the gentle warmth spreads through the old cold cases  and you have a real fire breathing runner.

 Cheers!!!

 Swarfy.

That looks beautiful Miker. Too nice to ride amongst the great unwashed out there.
I like the milk crate stool as well.

That sir, is looking fantastic.
Have you had that front reg plate sign written? I love the way the flash follows the line of the plate. Classy!

Hi Minto,
It is just a sticker custom made to fit by my brother in law.

 G'day Miker

Just looking at the pix again. Is it going to be a sidecar bike?  Just looks to have a sidecar fitting on the frame as a convenient lifting handle, and the rear sprocket, unless its a trick of the light, is a 49 tooth dinner plate. This is no good for a solo, which has 42 teeth on the drum and 19 teeth gearbox sprocket.  Some folks run with 19, 20, 21 on the gearbox, all depends on where you'll ride and whether you want high speed relaxed cruising at the expense of all out pulling power. Need to decide sprocket choice before the engine unit goes into the frame as the gearbox sprocket can't be accessed without removing the whole unit.  Some enterprising Forum Members have solved this with clever modification to the primary case.

Putting the rear mudguard bracket inside the guard, at the top, is the way most bikes are set up. Keeps the rain from running between the parts, but where you live I suppose that ain't a problem.

 Cheers.

Hi Swarfcut,
Yes I am setting it up for a sidecar. 49 tooth sprocket and heavy duty front fork springs. Still looking for the Top Front Sidecar Frame Fitting if anyone has one.I will check out the mudguard stays and see if I can move them.

Cheers
