Thought I knew about Plunger Frames, but never seen anything like this.

Looks to be a bolt on spigot, maybe as a replacement for the early rigid frame "drop down stand on a ratchet" which had its dangerous and awkward aspects.
Same fella has a Plunger Frame for sale, which does not appear to have any stand frame pivots, yet from the frame number should by my reckoning have the usual stand pivot/footrest mount lower forging. So most likely is the rear frame section and stand belong together and the front frame member is not contemporary with the rear section, which must be earlier.
One for Julian? A quick look in the early parts catalogues shows nothing remotely like it, so a bit of a conundrum.

Got me too. Just braved the snow and wind to look at my plunger. Been nearly 40 years since I had it apart. Looks like mine it's integral with the forging. It may be a transition from the death trap to the "normal". GMF.
