Hello, I've hit a problem with my bike build, as the spacers for the footrests don't fit the 54/55 GS frame.
The pitch of the lugs that locate into the frame are too close to the centre bolt.
Any ideas what these are off, as there's no stamping number on them?
I am thinking I will be lucky to find the correct ones but I could get a local engineering company to modify them.
Please can anyone enlighten me with their wisdom as not even sure if they are the correct length or of a BSA?
Kind regards
Dave

Hi John, Now I look at them they could be home made.
I will keep a eye out on ebay for some over the next few weeks, as typical that I missed the ones for sale the other day.

Have a browse in OBM and ring a few old school suppliers.

You may have noticed my post about footrests and footrest brackets. I attach exploded view from BSA 1954-1955 parts book. So you can get numbers. Go onto Dragonfly web site to get lengths, as they are different each side. Yes yours look home made,be careful of Indian as they try to sell at 1 length for both on many adverts.

Here is the parts list, it only let me put 1 att at a time.

Here is the link to Dragonfly, you need, scroll down and it gives you footrest spacer lengths for each side. pahttps://www.draganfly.co.uk/bsa/bsa/a710--b3133--c101112--m202133/category/966-riders-footrestsge

Just a thought - if the pegs are only slightly out of alignment with the holes but otherwise the tubes are OK for length etc, why not file those pegs until they fit? May not suit the rivet counters, but even half a peg would be sufficient to take the rotational strain created by the footrest.

Thankyou all for your brilliant advice!!
I found the parts on Dragonfly and it gives the correct lengths, but also showed they aren't identical. The Indian sellers seemed to show a pair the same size but didn't specify part numbers or lengths. My plan is to try and buy some from Dragonfly, but showing on back order. Failing that I will find someone local to modify the ones I have to fit. Something else I have learnt about the bike! Studying the early phots it never had them on, so it makes some sense they don't fit.
Thanks again

Hi Mick,
Thanks for the advice, as only just seen your message and link to your post. The parts manual is brilliant!! I had decided the photos looked the same size too on ebay sellers! This is all a learning curve but one thing I have learnt so far is there is no need to buy from India. A Guarantee, no worries about VAT and import tax, plus a return policy.. Great advice here where to look, which is my challenge so thanks for the help! *smile*

Hi Dave, glad it was of help, I have just had to learn the hard way. I have the footrest carriers off my bike at the moment, so I can give you dimensions, off sets, length etc if you want. more fun than watching Christmas TV with the family *smile*.
