Hi All
Have ye seen the photos going around from the Austrian museum that was destroyed
by fire a couple of days ago *sad2*
There were some irreplaceable bikes in there *doh*

Yes, I've seen that news. What a shame!

You'd think with that amount of precious machinery they'd have a decent fire control system.

Pretty devastating, but, having not heard of it until yesterday, guessing I probably would have missed it in this life anyway. For those of you who had it on your bucket list, I'm very sorry. For the architect who thought it was OK to forego the cost of sprinklers because they didn't look good in the award photos for the architecture magazines anyway, loss of license is appropriate.

G'day Fellas.
Yes I know the feeling *ex*
What a crying shame. The loss is incredible.
Sprinklers are on the list for my shed. Just set up the 5000lt tank and pump.
Cheers

Forget the building, replaceable, but *eek* all that great machinery gone... Shocking really.
How is it in this tech age they built such a superb modern place without working\adequate fire systems!??
Obviously used very inflammable materials all over, but any accident in one area should never have been even remotely able to spread and burn the whole thing like one big log. jez.

I hope you didn't think I was sorry for the loss of the building. Consider how we're sad about this, then try to imagine how the curator or chief mechanic might be feeling.

You'd have thought the owners would have learned from our mistake in the national motorbike museum ,they didn't think about sprinklers probably to expensive ,then overnight most of it gone !!

And don't forget the ones for the outside as well .
It will be interesting to see what happens with any insurance claim.
No fire surpression would invalidate most policies if not declaired .
I had to fit a minimum of 4 cameras to get my policy on the workshop for customers mowers .
Also supposed to have fire extinguishers both inside & outside and the "workshop is offically a store room.

G'day Trevor.
Insurance Co's being Insurance Co's will do anything to not pay! I'm only private and anyone leaving a bike here does at own risk, but I'll do my best.
It's a wonder I got paid as there were trees within 100Kms from home !!! LOL
Cheers

All that treasure stored in a wooden building in the middle of nowhere on top of a mountain in winter snow!
