Roger D  Compare with Mikers's pictures posted today which look to be more or less unmolested.  Your kickstart and its cotter are a little different, as is the kickstart return spring anchor arrangement on your bike. The locking nut is more usually on the outside of the box.

 Swarfy.

Miker's footpegs look to be the normal standard length - they look the same as my other SR.
I really wanted to know which year bike  these long ones came from - I've looked at loads of other bikes and they all seem to have the short ones ??
I' ve seen the kicker cotter pin in both ways on various bikes.
