Title: HF 1441 horn mount

Hi all,
        Does anyone have a pic of the horn mounting inside the `58 onwards nacelle?
I believe the horn is an HF 1441, and as far as i can make out it is bracketed onto the bottom yoke, although i have never seen a bottom yoke with holes for the bracket. Any info appreciated.

Hi Richie - Got a pic for you but uploads not possible at the moment, basically it is two holes tapped into the bottm joke and a braket to the horn

Richie,
           As Bill says, there are two tapped holes in the bottom yoke and an angle bracket bolted to the yoke with at least two spring steel plates connecting the horn to the bracket.

Thanks guys,  i did manage to get a look at one recently, but it was in a very rusty state so i couldn`t see it very well, also, are the two holes tapped into bosses in the bottom yoke, making it a different casting from the non hole type yoke, as i don`t think it would be a very good idea to just drill my existing yoke, as it doesn`t seem thick enough to take a thread?
This might seem a bit dense to you, but i`ve never had a nacelle on the bike, and i can`t remember ever seeing a bottom yoke with tapped holes in it either.

It is just a standard yoke with the holes drilled and tapped. 1/4 cycle I think. Also the holes are offset to the centre line which points the horn to the left, again I think.
I will have a look at one later to confirm.

As our administrator has worked his magic here is a pic of the bottom yoke, the two holes are as you can see drilled and tapped into the yoke so that the bracket sits  an angle on the yoke

Thats great Bill, i was confused by the parts book showing those holes on the diagonal, which i thought was a bad drawing. Now i just have to source a bracket.

Richie,
           Here's what the bracket set-up looks like.
The bottom bit is an angle bracket with two 1/4 clearance holes on one side and two 2BA tapped holes on the other.
The straight bit comprises four spring steel plates drilled to suit.
Probably the same as the Triumph nacelle horn.

          after 1960 a smaller horn was used, Lucas HF8.

Reading this thread, am I right in thinking my `61 super rocket should have the horn on the bottom yoke as per above photo`s-at present, it has the Lucas heavy "altette" style clamped down by the front engine mount. (I assume by 1961 the heavy Altette style was well out of production, and this would force the issue for BSA to fit the HF8 as shown? Bob.

Bob,
             The HF1234 was used on non nacelle bikes to the end of production.
The swinging arm models used the one with the corrugated tone disc and flat bezel.
