G'day Mike.
Try running a hotter plug. I use NGK B7ES so try B6ES or even a B5ES but I wouldn't go any hotter unless your going to Iceland.
I've just started using BP7ES in my 57 SS top end on 51 plunger bottom. Working well.
Cheers

What is the difference between the B7HS and B7ES?

It looks like the thread is longer on the B7ES.

B7HS 1/2" reach. B7ES 3/4" reach. For spark plug comparison tables, take a look at the Green Spark Plug Co website.

Right. I guess my question was, "Why use one over the other?" Using the magic of the Googles I answered my own question.

Trying to remedy a mixture problem with hotter plugs can lead to holes in pistons.

Have you renewed the needle jet?
