Hi all, I’m chasing a crankshaft for my 1955 Shooting Star, the short stroke crank. Unfortunately mine is cracked at a big end, hence the need for a replacement. Hoping someone can assist. Regards.

G'day chotus52.
Good luck. I snapped two when racing my 1957 A7SS in the 90's.
Might to be easier doing what I did and get an A10 crank/rods (large journal)/barrels & pistons. The A7SS head will take A10 (iron head) valves.
For the life of me I can't find a part number for the crank!
Cheers

It's the same crank on all short stroke A7's. 67 384 and 67 385 are listed, originally listed bare in some catalogues or supplied with rods, hence different part number, which also changes with a change in con rod type. Doubtful you will find a new one.....cheap.

67-383 for 1955 SS. Hope the pics are legible. (Click to enlarge).

I did a quick search on UK e-bay and there are lots from £30 up. Post will cost but ship it surface and it shouldn't be too bad or get a friend to carry it.
