Hi Guys
I’m installing the remote oil filter in the tool box and need to make a couple of hoses. It would be nice to use what I think is the original type of hose. So far I haven’t found a supplier. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

For the standard set up I'd regard these as a "special", a BSA hose rather than a generic one. For a filter add on any hydraulic hose outfit can make you up a plain pair, the armoured feature is the special aspect. These hoses carry very little pressure, the armour is to just to protect the hose. Braided hose is an alternative, but for the genuine look it will have to be parts from one of the usual classic bike suppliers and then a bit of fettling to fit non standard connections.
C & D Autos at Henley in Arden used to do the standard pipes, don't know if these folks are still in business, website looks untouched for years....

Just spoken with CD Autos, they are still going strong, but sadly don't have the hose stock that I was looking for.

there is no original hose for the oil filter as BSA didnt come with one , any automotive fuel line hose will work as its for oil and petrol . I bought the Norton commando filter kits and it came with black hose I cut to length.

Thanks Sean, I am just trying to keep it looking original…ish!
If I could find an original hose I could remove the metal “spring” and put it over the new hose.

across the pond Walridge Motors sell a kit of the stainless steel braid hose I am sure someone in UK has the same you just cut it to length and crimp the fitting on the ends .

The SS braided hose is readily available here, but the original hose had a flat spring armour outer, it is that that I am trying to emulate. I know it carries no pressure to speak of, it’s purely aesthetic.

Hi All,
On one A10 that fitted a filter to I kept the original oil lines, I undid the return and turned the angled inlet
away from the oil tank, A modified hose tail fitted the original union then I used rubber hose to the filter and back to the oil tank, It was hardly noticable when finished ;)
On my own SR I made braided stainless oil lines, Not liking the available end fittings/ clamps, I made stainless ferrules from some tubing I found at work, It was mallable enough to roll the ends of the tube to hide the ends of the stainless braid . I crimped the ferrules to re chromed original fittings with a hydraulic cable crimper! OK it was a lot of work just to make some oil lines, but justified for my own bike

Thanks John, I will have a look at that option.
Have you any photos please?

Hi Neil,
It was a customer bike, sorry I did not take photos *sad2*

Thanks John. No problem. There is another post that has some good photos. Today I mounted the oil filter in the tool box, I will sort the hoses later.
