Title: Idler pinion
Post by: Lestter on 19.08. 2025 13:43
Hello everyone, and reading about the distribution of BSA, and I asked me if the crazy pinion brings the holes that I have seen, reading articles, publications of this same Forum, was it a race kit, or simply the one who wants to do it?

That is non-standard. Somebody has been having fun with a big drill!

Its the sort of thing Eddie Dow did.

The photo looks a lot like my A10.

SRM did some work on my engine back in 1997 which included lightening the idler and cam gear and lightening and polishing the rockers Does it make any difference? Who knows but I like it.

Below is the whole photo of my engine.

The photo looks a lot like my A10.

Below is the whole photo of my engine.

I'd say it is yours judging by all the markings that are lining up in both photos.

A few years back i was messing about with my XS1100 and mocked up FJ1100 ignition coils in place of the XS1100 ones. Trawling through ebay a few weeks later and what did i see, someone trying to sell what i'd mocked up from the XS1100 owners club site photo which they had used on ebay. So i got in touch with the scammer on ebay, who was shocked that it was my photo and that i'd got on his case. He blagged me with some BS and i told him to take the photo down because it was just an experiment. He did take the ad down but goes to show the sort of bull scammers will go to in an attempt to scam some money. Not that the person who posted your picture is a scammer i'm just saying what can happen.

Reckon OP is a bit of an armchair biker,  and certainly English not a first language but still understandable.

It's certainly Julian's  picture, and once any image is out  there it is fair game to be viewed, copied, pasted etc  by anyone with a legitimate or otherwise purpose.

Social Media Rant...It has a lot to answer for and it is sad that some folks are not cute enough to realise their intimate posted pics will end up in the hands of the lower echelons of our society, scumbags and perverts etc. Then they realise something so simple can have a big impact on their mental state and other more worrying scenarios.

Got me a new cheap Android Phone this week. Gave that Devil Google most of my soul just to get the thing working.

 Swarfy.
