Good evening everyone,
My name is Laurent from France and I'm on this forum because I found this on my garage floor.
I suspected it was coming from the oil reservoir of my BSA, but every time I searched for information I ended up on this forum without being able to access it. So I signed up...
I'm in Lozère, in the "Gorges du Tarn" , and my motorcycle is a BSA A10 Spitfire Scrambler replica.

Hi Laurent
Welcome to the forum. There is bags of expertise on this forum but this is an easy question that even I can answer.
The assembly you found is the lower (rear) oil tank mounting. It should be bolted to the frame up tube with 2 bolts and the rest is a rubber mounted device.
Given its off the oil tank it is impressively clean.
It won't stop you starting the bike but it's absence will damage the oil tank.
