The original serrated washers that I have look good to use but they do as intended - bite into the paint or aluminium. On other bikes I've built I used stainless spring washers to good effect. The stainless steel wave washers are useless and so I imagine are the stainless serrated washers. Other than originality - what is there to be considered on the choice of anti vibe washers?

if they are biting into paint or ally i think you fitted them wrong they are supposed to bite into the bolt head or nut.

I've only taken it apart! if the washer fits between the alloy casting and a bolt - won't it bite into the alloy?

that depends on how hard or soft the washers are but they have a correct way and a wrong way to fit them, sharp bits to the bolt head or nut, but you shouldn't need those washers on ally if you are potting a bolt right through a hole you should use a fine thread nut and bolt , if putting a bolt into a blind ally hole put a steel washer under the lock washer. *beer*
