Hi
My battery was not charging and i thought it was time to replace it..
I put a new one charged full but after a couple of short rides is empty again..
My ligths are getting brigther when i open throttle so its not dynamo issue..
Can i set with some easy way the regulator to fix problem or should i replace regulator..
Thanks

G'day mate,
I am going through the same trials at the moment with my a10. If I understand correctly, start the bike, get lights on, disconnect the battery and see what happens. If you have no lights, reg is stuffed. What is it showing on the ammeter?

Using a multimeter in volt dc, does the voltage across the battery poles increase when engine rev increases ? If not, first of all check the regulator cutout function.

Your lights are getting brighter but is the voltage high enough?
With your lights off, check voltage across the battery terminals. It should be a bit over 7 volts.
Turn on lights and it should still be around the 7 volt mark.
If you have an electro mechanical regulator, it is relatively easy to set and adjust, just follow the BSA service sheet instructions.
If you are not confident that you can do this, an electronic regulator is for you.
You should also follow the dynamo testing instructions also.
