Title: 18 vs 19 rear wheel

Ok ,,have a 1952 Plunger A7  told that stock wheel is 19" I don't want to run 19,,if I use 18" will the wheel still be centered ?

Hi there. You do not really give enough info for anyone to advise you as far as I am aware all the A7's and A10,s had 19" wheel rims some of the A65's and A50's had 18" rims so why would you want to change to 18" rims,  if you already have 19" wheels you could have problems changing as the spokes would be too long also it might affect the angle of the spokes in the hubs assuming you can get suitable rims drilled and countersunk to the correct angle.

I don't have an 18,,my 58 had a 18 ,,

I've just put 18" alloy rims on my plunger. It means that I can get a better selection of (wider) tyre. The outside diameter for a 3.60 x 18" tyre is the same as the stock 19".

G'day HP,
             18" would be no problem. The spokes would need to have the thread lengthened a bit and the overall length shortened. The only point to watch is width. A WM2 rim with a 4" tyre would be about max to have it all lined up OK.

Surely for strength those threads have to be rolled and not cut ... don't they?

Yes the threads are rolled not cut. I had a roller but doing all the spokes in stainless for both my A's (160 of them) killed it.
