Title: dynamo drive sprocket

Trying to remove the drive sprocket on my RGS by method in Haynes manual: "tap sharply with a drift" to free the sprocket from the tapered shaft. No success. I have tried heating the sprocket also. I would apprceciate any help.

Something behind it to apply a gentle pressure, like a shoehorn shape then a sharp tap often does it

They can be a very tight fit because it,s on a taper. I made a two leg puller with two pieces of steel strip bent at the ends in the vice. Weld another piece across the top and weld a nut on for an extractor screw.

Aha, the ol'e shoehorn trick. Worked like a charm with an hour of WD-40 along the treads.
