Hi, everyone, just wanted to know the two wires/leads from the yoke on the above item does it matter what way round they go ???they seem to be identical with inpregnated oil.
thanks.

It does. If they are the wrong way round the dynamo won't deliver power

Where the wires go into the dynamo, there should be f and d stamped next to them. That will tell you which is which.

Hi Michael,
I don't mind admitting that electrics are my weak point but after studying the Lucas Workshop instructions one of the diagrams shows the 2 brushes. One of these brushes is attached to earth. The other one appears to go to the "D" terminal.
Anyway, that's how I connected my dynamo up last week and it's working fine.
I'm sure somebody on the forum will comment if I'm wrong.

Hi Michael, One brush and one end of the field coil go to earth, the other brush goes to the D terminal (Dynamo) and the other end of the field coil goes to the F terminal, these two output wires then match up with the D and F connections on the reg/cutout. Yellow is D and green is F. Hope this helps. Cheers. Gerry
