Hi All. I'm just in the process of reassembling my 1957 Ariel hub A10. It came to me in boxes and its proveing to be a bit of a headache. I have 2 different rear wheel spindles and no swinging arm! Now heres my problem, the smaller spindle would need the same width aperature both sides in the swinging arm but the larger spindle would require a larger width aperature on the righthand side only. Please could someone who has an Ariel hubed A10 measure the swinging arm slot each side and let me know which is correct to enable me to obtain the correct swinging arm. Thanks in anticipation. Peter

Your in Luck Peter... I just pulled my rear wheel out ...
Right hand side aperature is 44.35mm long & 25.32.. high... or 1.746"Long X .997"High
It also has the number 4111 & the letter S in a circle embosed on the swing arm ..
Left Hand side is 50.10mm Long X 17.65.. High.. or 1.972"Long X .695" High
measurements taken from my USED swingarm so may not be as per specks.. (But close enough )
The cotton reel spacer /spindle go's on the Right side axle..
the LEFT Axle is slotteded so it sits INSIDE the swingarm slot..

WozzA, Many Many Thanks, thats great, just what I needed. Could I be doublely cheeky and ask about your chain guard mountings, I'm assuming they have the 2 upright rectangle blocks, one longer that the other with a hole in each end like the later bikes, could you please confirm. It will helpme to identify the correct swinging arm. Many Thanks, Peter
