Hello..!
My speedo light works when I run my A7 with the side light (I run halogens from Paul Goff - great stuff!) - but when I switch to headlight proper the speedo light goes out...I presume I need to make a wiring bridge somewhere in the headlight switch so that the speedo light remains on when the headlight setting is selected...
I have a good idea how fast I'm going down country lanes in the dark but it's not ideal...:-)
Cheers!

Hi Fredl, was it working on headlight position before changing to the new bulbs ? if so the change of bulbs surely can't be responsible. I'd have alook at the switch conections poss dodgy switch or a wire loose or broken even poor earth for the speedo or excuse this, a broken bulb, regards BobH.

Hi Fredl
It looks like the speedo bulb is wrongly wired to the sidelight connection which would explain why it goes off when you switch to the headlamp. There is a terminal on the lighting switch for the speedo (and tacho) bulbs which becomes live when either the sidelight or headlamp bulbs are activated. I am sure other forum members will know the terminal identification but should be easy to identify as there will be no wire on it and you should be able to check with a meter (or bulb) whether you have a voltage on it with side and headlamps.
