Hello, Gents.
I have a question on throttle slides.  What is the significance of the cut out number.  I know it alters the mixture, but is a 3.5 cutout bigger or smaller than a 5, and by how much?
Regards.
Tim.

Hi raindoger
the number is fractions of an inch from 0 being no cutaway.
The fraction escapes me at the mo, but I remember altering one of my slides with a file - somehow a 1/16th pops into my mind but not sure of that's what I took off or is the unit. - help lads

The larger the cutaway the larger the number, which equals more air into engine @ idle & runs leaner. *smile*

Thats right Bill, inciments of 1/16" a 3 1/2 slide has 7/32 cutaway. You can turn a 2 into a 3 easy but the other way means needle work as well.
Cheers

Drew,
That carby is from a Royal Enfield, Model G.
You may have some trouble if you use the original air cleaner as these types are longer in the throat than standard to clear the generator.
