Just found this E Bay advert, IIRC there was all sorts tried at the end. What say you?

Not 100% sure on this. If he means S.R.M. did the roller bearing conversion then I don't think it's genuine. To the best of my knowledge, the later 'A' series all had this done at the factory on competition engines?
It's still a very nice bike though.

If BSA made a comeback that bike would sell today. Might need disk brakes I guess.

not as far as stickers go tho, he's taken it upon himself to rename it "Bandit" which a lot of people think it should be - BSA Bandit and Triumph Fury
The factory decided the other way around

Gb, here is some info from there blurb sheet


1971 BSA Fury
 Claimed power: 34hp @ 9,000rpm
Top speed: 100mph (est.)
Engine: 349cc air-cooled DOHC 180-degree parallel twin, 63mm x 56mm bore and stroke, 9.5:1 compression ratio
Weight (dry): 345lb (157kg)
Fuel capacity/MPG: 2.5gal (9.5ltr)

In 1971, BSA-Triumph was poised to release an all-new double overhead cam 350cc twin to take on Honda’s reigning middleweight, the CB/CL 350. Unfortunately, BSA-Triumph’s slide into bankruptcy couldn’t be stopped and the 350 never had a chance to make a difference.

Hi All,
To describe tha Ebay bike as a prototype is very misleading
It is a special built by some individual !!
If my memory is correct I thought there were a lot of frames made in readiness for production??
I'm fairly sure several wound up as race chassis housing different engines???

Having heard one of these engines running (a prototype), I believe Honda need not have worried  *sad2*
