spoke to a guy at york autojumble he had re-bored and rebuilt his s/rocket engine and used new peogeot car pistons ???
-
I look forward to hearing what the forum elders have to say about this.

who would have thought the Peogeot would have used BSA pistons eh
-
I used to use datsun cherry pistons std were plus 80 for an a 10. Also T150 160 pistons fit a7s .

The trouble with A75/T150/T160 pistons in an A7 is the crown height. I used A10 rods shortened by about 2mm, this gave about 14:1 comp.

Generally it is a bad idea to fit a watercooled engine piston into an aircoled engine.
The car pistons are generally lighter and have less ovality than bike ones.
You might get away with it on a bike you run lightly but don't be suprised if the crown splits off or you get excessive piston slap.
OTOH deisel pistons can take it but you need to do a reasonable amount of machining.
