Title: A10 plunger silencer mounting
Post by: beezalex on 28.04. 2009 15:01
Pretty simple question, really: Do the silencers on plunger A10's mount inboard or outboard of the lug on the frame?  I had trouble getting them to fit inboard, so I have them mounted outboard but they kinda stick out a lot...in fact, so much that I grounded out one of the nice, shiny mufflers the other day.  I've looked at dozens of pictures, but can't find one that shows this.

Thanks in advance.

I think it's impossible to mount them on the wheel-side of the frame. And yes, the plunger ground clearance is not fantastic. (In my case, the footpegs touch before the silencers, don't know what's worst or most dangerous, just have to adjust to it and be carefull).

I used shims and spacers to adjust the whole thing to fit quite nicely. See pics (damn this good camera, showing every tiny spot of dust, rust and oil  *smile* )

Thanks for the pics.  I think I see what's going on.  My mounting tabs are normal to the silencer OD and whereas is looks like yours bend inward a bit tucking the silencer in a bit.  Maybe that's all I need...to bend the mount tab.
