Title: Useful tool for stubborn nuts and bolts - £11.99
Post by: Gasket4450 on 06.03. 2016 16:49
   Hello All
Not sure if this is the correct place for this one, but somebody will tell me if it isn't, I'm sure.

My son spotted this on Hot UK Deals yesterday and sent me the link:

http://www.screwfix.com/p/erbauer-bolt-nut-remover-set-6-pieces/6083D?kpid=KINASEKPID&cm_mmc=AffiliateWindow-_-Discount%20Code-_-Datafeed&source=aw&awc=1228_1457120740_965331928966cdb253b0c1d1341b5ecb&source=aw&awc=1228_1457172529_587260055a34fa6ce0ba00193fcbe55c

I have seen this exact same set for sale on Amazon at £22, and on Evilbay for £33 !   I went and got one - at this price it's too good to miss. An excellent gadget for those butchered nuts and bolts with rounded-off corners. Sorry all you blokes in Oz and US, probably not available over there.

Regards
Norman T

Very similar design to http://www.metrinch-tools.com/
Good in my bike tool kit as they fit metric/AF/whit, so the same kit goes on all my bikes.
Cheers

Hi All,
The link posted asks you to sign in to screwfix ?????

http://www.ie.screwfix.com/erbauer-bolt-nut-remover-set-6-pieces.html

should get you there directly ???

Musky, they appear to have spiral (tapered?) grooves  to bite into the bolt head/nut

A few weeks ago I was asked if I could remove a locking wheel nut on a Skoda
It had a sleeve that was free to turn  around the outside that was hardened as was the nut itself  *problem*
The owner had taken the car to the "main dealer" to get the nuts removed, they failed on one  *ex*
I tried the "key" with my air gun but no joy it would stay gripped with lots of pressure onto the nut *conf2*
I sent the owner to a friend of mine who has a "Snap On" battery powered impact wrench,  *bright idea*
Two jabs on the trigger and it opened  *smile*
I bought a similar Snap On gun for myself last week *loveit* *loveit*

John

Ah, I see it now John. My specs are 10 years overdue for upgrade  *red*.
The metrinch spanners/sockets are good for rounded off nuts, the Erbauer would be the next line of attack.
Cheers

Bought one down here 4 years ago at a swap meet when I first started doing mowers.
Not too bad if there are some flats left on the nut but useless on totlly round spindle bolts.
Back to the Harley tool kit. *work*
