Title: a10 pushrods

Hi all, enjoy all the posts,so much knowledge but now i could do with some !!. am putting a a10 motor together from a box of bits, need pushrods but not sure what is best,, its thin flange barrels and  alloy head from a7. any help would be appreciated

thin flange/thick flange makes no difference to the pushrods. A7 ones are shorter.
As the motors have iron barrels the original hollow tube steel pushrods have the most suitable expansion rate and strength. But a lot of people also run alloy rods with varying success.
One of my A10's has steel, the other alloy.  I would suggest the original steel ones but if alloy ones cheaper and easier to source, not much in it. Some forum members have had excessive wear from alloy pushrods which is atypical

I'm not completely sure about the consequences, but I would think you might not be abe to run anything but flat-top pistons if you have an A7 head on A10 barrels.

Interested to find out if I am wrong.

I bought original style steel tubular pushrods from C and D Autos when I found the ends of my alloy rods wearing too fast.

Thanks for the replies, good food for thought, Richard my pistons are flat topped so hopefully will work ok,the  a7 head might mean higher comp, will be interesting to see the results
