Title: 1962 A10 Super Rocket Camshaft

Hi all

I have allot of confussion, as to what camshaft the 1962 Super Rocket is supposed to have, in my basket case I have a 356 camshaft and where I have read, such as Roy Bacons BSA Twin Restoration and there it says a Super Rocket is suppose to have the Spitfire 357 camshaft.

Does the Scrambler and the Super Rocket have the same camshaft as the Spitfire?
Can you help as to what camshaft is it meant to have?

Can anybody tell me what year the bike is?  I think its a 1962, maybe I have this wrong and that would explain the 356 camshaft.

Frame Number GA7.1763
Engine Number DA10 R 4698 (with HC under it)

It appears to be a 1960 frame & 1961 engine.
Smarter people than I reckon the engine should be stamped "HHC" if the 357 cam is fitted.

and it is 48 years old so why would you expect it to be running the original cam, your car wont be ( if it stays in one piece till it is 48 )

The 1960-63 BSA Spares book lists the 67-0357 cam being fitted to the Spitfire Scrambler and Super Rocket; the -356 cam was fitted to all other A Group non-unit models.
