Title: Plunger rear mudguard stays
Post by: bikerboy on 02.07. 2017 03:01
Can somebody with a plunger do me a quick favour and tell me what size tube the rear mudguard stays are please?

If you could also tell me what size the rocker steadies (just the tube size) are, it would be useful as well, just to be cheeky. The way this project is going I am going to end up fabricating most of the damned parts.

I suppose thats what becomes of having a non standard mudguard and an alloy head on it  ;)

Rear stays are 3/4".
Head steady are 1/2", from memory. Can't find them at the moment.

+1 on what Trev said; rear stays 3/4" I only ever had half of each, and I think the wall thickness is substantial (at least 1/16" ). I made my own Head stays from 16 x 1.6mm Stainless 5/8 x1/16" , but only because it seemed like a sensible size and I had it on hand (probably for that reason)... *dunno*

I'm away from home ATM so cannot measure mine. Let me know if you need another opinion.
