G'day GB.
I saw similar at Sydney Showground Speedway back in the 70's. The rider parted company on turn 1, the bike hit the wall, went down and did a few donuts then jumped up again and did the full length of the infield slamming into the wall at the other end FULL Tilt.

I'd have thought the bike would have a throttle shut off similar to a jet ski

They are supposed to have a lanyard cable attached to the riders wrist and the engine cut out. But I learnt to hot wire my bike at age 9. So must he.
