Hi,
I'd like to fit a side stand to my '49 A7 Star Twin plunger, without the need for welding. Does anyone know if a clamp or bolt on side stand fits? I've tried a universal stand but can't get the lug between the engine and the frame. Are there other options using the footrest lug, or the centre stand lugs, or the rear of the frame?
Many thanks, Peter.

I've seen pictures of American kick-stands that bolt onto the frame tube in front of the engine.

Hi pdg,
The "usual" place for attaching a clamp on stand on plunger frames is to the frame tube between the primary case and bottom of the plunger unit
This is where BSA fitted them on certain models

My Plunger has the prop-stand mounting attached to the frame, factory fitted I'm sure. I found a picture of the same arrangement on the forum, posted in 2008 by GuyboA10

I'm still looking for a suitable side stand for my '51 too. It would be easy if it had the factory lug but it hasn't, and by the looks of it never did have. Using the centre stand is a pain (literally) in the backside.

i've just got the numbers from Draganflys site listing the part numbers for factory fitted side stands .They included rigid plunger and of course s/w models from M20/21 B series and of corse A 's . so they were factory fitted if ordered.
