2019 Ballarat Swap Meet - Victoria , Australia  February 22nd & 23rd 2019

Ok Making an "Official Thread" here for anyone going...

This is Australia's Largest Swap meet, so no doubt there is a few people from here going.

Mike will be there at Site D39
(https://mikesclassiccyclespares.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/map.jpg)

I will try make sure he takes some sort of signage so people know when walking past as well.

Mike will be taking the "Ute" (pick up truck) and trailer of parts, so if any have any requests of parts you need to get in quick!

How many miles of aisles can one cover in two (probably more like 1-1/2) days? Doing a little research, I see that there are about 2700 stalls. That can't help but be frustrating if you're in search of something specific and bound and determined to check every stall to see if they have it. Impossible, really. Is the meet divided up in any way as to specialties, such as motorcycles, cars, doilies,  etc.? In any case it would be a hell of an amusing place to look around (on wheels).

P.S. I probably won't be able to make it this year.

When I was restoring an old car I went to an Auto jumble at Beaulie motor museum. I needed various items. Trying to scan hundreds of stalls was exhausting and head ache inducing. I found some treasures though.

The key word being "hundreds" not "thousands."

G'day Fellas.
I've only been to that one once in the early 90's and was astounded at the size of it. 500 miles each way and came home with nothing!
Cheers

I also went once.
Much too big and the bike stuff was all grouped together but I still had to walk many miles to be sure that the car blokes didn't have anything worthwhile. Also had to check out the tool sellers.
The first day was absolutely freezing and the second was as hot as hell.
I found quite a bit of stuff for myself and friends so it was well worth the ordeal.

It was a long time ago; I cannot recall if there were more 999 stalls.

Well bear in mind that most of it is tintops stuff.
Local for me. Best trick is to steal your kid's pushie and cycle around...
(Also helps when it comes to carrying that $20 alloy head and NOS barrels out)

If you look at the map to where I pointed out our site, you can see that center section is a different color, I believe that are is all motorcycle stuff
