Title: Hot clutch slip
Post by: Mosin on 15.06. 2019 22:19
My 4 spring clutch is working perfectly when cold, but once it warms up it starts to slip. It is usually good for the first half hour or so, but then it becomes impossible. Once it cools down it is fine again. I have tried slackening off the cable at the handlebars, but no change. Any suggestions?

Try cork lined plates.

Not much help to you, but I have the exact opposite to your problem. Initially when cold the clutch works just fine. Once it warms up after a few miles it drags and the gear change becomes very notchy and neutral is impossible to select. I have spent hours and hours working on it without success.

G'day Mosin.
What type of oil in the primary?
Do you have enough freeplay at the gearbox lever?
Everything grows when hot so if there isn't sufficient freeplay it might be loading the clutch.
Cheers
