Ok, guys, I have searched and searched
But can't find anything I'm fitting a Thorspark ignition but how do you get the old cam ring out?
-
Sometimes with great difficulty.
Heat the end plate to say 150 degrees and bump it over something with a clearance hole for the cam ring. It may take a few goes, depending on the amount of corrosion around the ring.

Probably not a manual one I'm guessing, as they move easily as a rule. But the fixed ones can be hard. A neat and easy-to-make weapon for getting two-lobe camrings out is shown here: http://www.brightsparkmagnetos.com/workshop/BitsAndBobs/index.htm

Yeah it’s a auto

Cam ring successfully removed *smile*
I soaked it in WD40 and left it for an hour or so, then I used a large flat blade screwdriver moving around the edge and slowly tweaked it out.
