Title: Fused ankle?
Post by: Greybeard on 07.10. 2019 15:39
hi everyone ,  ive just had a ankle fusion , and cant kick over my bikes...

Hi TW,
I also have a crook (left) ankle so I would very interested to hear about your experience....

Greybeard,  what experience do you mean ? the ankle or acquiring a starter  *conf*TW
I may have to consider having my left ankle fused. I'm interested to know how you manage life and motorcycling after that. Can you operate the brake pedal?

SNAP.
My left ankle has been fused since 1968 when a Austin A35 van came out of a side road and flattened it between his front bumper and my BSA Spitfire.

As for riding the bike. I fitted a sidecar and use my heal on the rear brake.

Left should not be a problem but do those leg curls to strengthen the knee.
I ripped the right foot off and ride reasonably well but have to up change by hooking my heel over the lever and lifting the leg.
Good luck.
And watch where you walk
If the ankle is fused, stubbing your toes on the smallest things will have you kissing the earth.
