I have added indicators to my 12v 51 plunger A10. I have recently noticed that when I reconnect the earth wire from the battery the indicator unit makes a noise that seems to suggest that it is energised. Is this correct? I assume it will be gently draining the battery and may be leading to the need to frequently replace the fuse.
i am considering installing a switch to enable me to turn the live conact to the indicator unit off when i complete a ride.

Seems that the plan to install a switch has done the trick.

G'day gavin.
Sorry I cant help with the indicator problem other than I don't think it should be energized in the neutral position.
I run an isolation switch on both my A's. Both 12v with Boyer ignition. Not only to eliminate flat battery syndrome but to add to security.
Cheers

I've been happy just keeping the smoke in the electrics Musky. Now believe my battery will last longer also. N yep the added security is understood.
My other 51 flash would pop a fuse when it felt inclined. Auto electrician found a bare wire in 10 mins. Wish I'd gone there 2 years ago.
