Title: 40-6505 measurements please
Post by: Whipstrut on 21.04. 2020 17:24
Good Day All
Progress continues on myA-10 project, although somewhat more slowly now for obvious reasons. My wonderful son gifted me a set of late model valanced A-10 mudguards which of course utilize the 40-6505 brackets for the front. My sliders are the early type with the rear-facing tabs however. Can someone provide measurements of the bracket so I can begin fitting the front mudguard please?
Also, am I correct in assuming that to mount the rear valanced mudguard in my ‘54 Gold Flash swing arm frame I will require the “arrowhead” fender stays?

Thanks in advance friends.......

Don't forget that the 40-6505 brackets mount on the centre of the fork sliders so, if you mount them on the rear facing ears, the dent for the fork slider won't line up with the slider. The easiest way of mounting the rear mudguard would be to use the arrowheads.

Thanks loads for the quick reply. I’m going to fab custom brackets to mount the late mudguard to my early sliders.  I plan to tear everything to bits again to alter the slider to accept a TLS brake setup in the near future. Just need the measurements to get the mudguard in the correct position.

As an aside, what’s with the tv show “Mrs. Browns Boys?” I guarantee you’ll find nothing like it on crummy American television. We discovered the show while being quarantined, and love it. Wife laughs so hard she wets her knickers.
