just looking at the mount on my '54 RR not clearly covered in any parts lists, there are two bolts which would normally mount the speedo, but on a RR seem to have little use other than secure the plate when the stanchion top nuts are removed. However the bolts are quite long. are they rubber mounted. I believe these were also fitted on the super flash. Can someone post a picture of the arrangement for those two bolts please.

Don’t know if it is correct but my 55 Road Rocket just has short bolts holding the plate down, no rubber mounting.

Mine are the same, simply bolted down.

Mark,
that seems feasible. Mine is a different type though, certainly first year RR and super flash type.
the pic below is from Mike Reillys site. Your clocks are still rubber mounted as fitted to bolt on brackets, not the plate. Whereas my clocks bolt straight to the plate, so no rubber mounting as clock studs very short.
So yes while the later bikes rubber mount the individual clocks, this early style bracket doesnt.
Mine must be transitional as has a cutaway for a steering lock, but the 54's didnt have steering locks, so perhaps the one on Mikes site is off an earlier superflash

I see what you mean. Maybe a phone call to Mike?
