Title: 1960 Golden Flash s/arm Wheel Sizes
Post by: dave55 on 23.10. 2022 20:51
Hello , having just bought a the bike in the title the manuals say the wheel sizes are 19inch for both wheels? While having a good look round it i notice it has 19 front and 18 rear. Could this have been a modification back in the day , what would the original owner have been hoping to achieve, not speed surely . Other than getting wheel further off the ground if center stand was warn i fail to see anything ? Can Anyone tell me ?

The 18" is probably from an A65.

G'day Dave.
Trev is probably right. I myself can't comment on which A50/65 wheel will fit.
I put an 18" rim on the Cafe when racing it in the 90's just for a better selection of "sticky" rubber.
Cheers

I run a 19" on the front and 18" on the back so I could have a wider and taller tire. It doesn't mean it's goin' slower, sine the O.D.s are basically the same.

Dave,
My 1960 Flash has its original 19" wheels and rims front and back.
