Title: Technical measurements
Post by: brissy_bsa on 25.01. 2007 07:49
Hi Guys,

Could someone tell me the following:

a. The dia of the big end on the conrod, less the shell ?

b. The vertical oil clearance from shell to crankshaft?

Cheers

Ian

Re b., .0005" to .001" clearance is sufficient, per Nicholson's book for the GF.

Is 0.0005" to 0.001" clearance on diameter or radial ?

Cheers,  Ken.

Hi Ian, I went through this not long ago,I'll confirm this when I find the info, but think the Conrod Big end eye diameter should be ~1.8435, and I was recommended a 0.7- 0.8 thou oil gap (that's on a LARGE Journal)
