Hi guys
Back again. Does anybody have either a sketch or photo of the battery box & air filter for my Flash. The bike came without any & I need to start the wiring job
Thanks

Hi Anji,
If you wish to have the original type fitted, you must use the original type 6 (276) AMAL, this unit will not fit with a 376 or similar.
I have a 376 fitted, cut off the air filter holder and fitted a bellmouth.

Hi Josh
Thanks Josh. I now atleast know what it looks like. Will start the hunt for one, failing which will try & fabricate. Any idea what the critical dimensions are?? (Length, width , thkness etc. ) I have the original 276 Amal
Are you settled in your new environment ( Queensland ??? ) & touched base with other mad Brit iron loonies
Take care
Anji

I've seen new-made battery carriers on the net, but can't remember where. You only need the carrier, and can use the 276 with a bell. Problem with the airbox is not finding one, but as discussed before on the forum, getting hold of the correct rubber junction between carb and airbox.

Hi there
Bantom John has these. He wants £100 for them though. I have declined. I am planning to fit a chrome pan filter that just goes in. These have a paper filter element inside, well hopefully as the bike is still in bits. I got this off feebay. There's only about 40mm space between the amal 389 and the seat post tube.
I plan to fabricate a battery holder for the side so it looks like the real filter box. I might be able to use the thin remote filter advertised in the BSA Mag "The Star" its called a Hide-De-Hi, around the back so its hidden away. The filter is 1 1/2" x 7". Has anyone fitted one of these?

Hi Josh,
Do you have a photo of the 376 with filter? I have the same carb' with no filter as I can't find anything that fits.
I was considering moving my oil tank out to match the tool box and seeing if the additional space would help, either that or running a hose off the carb hooking forward: not sure about that one though, might have been too close to the now empty shelf in the fridge at the time...

G'day Darren,
The 376 will not fit with the filter, I cut the filter housing off the mounting ( i.e. I have no air filter ), screwed a bellmouth onto the 376, will post photos later.
I have the unit in the photos above as a spare that I will install on my bike when I find a well priced type 6 and A10 rubber boot to replace.

Hi Stu55Flash,
I fitted a hi-de-hide filter - see my post dated 17/05/09. Sorry I don't know how to a fancy link to it. Mounted on the right hand side frame member, as you'll se in the photos in the posting. Very happy with it, so far,
John
