Hi all, this is the cylinder head that we bought on Sunday, it came on the standard A10 barrels. Bob has asked if I could enquire why a single carb head would have a balance pipe on it, I want to know is it a balance pipe and what it might be from originally. Any light you could shed on this would be appreciated as it will be ending up on my A10 and I'd like to know what to tell people if they ask me!

Just a guess Anita - possible a vacuum gauge been fitted, no Idea why, more likely the pipe was fitted into the rockers to draw off pressure.
Some ( quite a lot ) of people seem to think there is an issue with A10/7 engines building up pressure in the rocker boxes, can't see it myself but each to there own.
there are four escape routes for pressure out of the rocker box back to the crankcase so my thoughts are a pressure problem in the rockers is a pressure problem in the whole engine and should be treated as such, never had any problems in this area myself

G'day Anita,
is it a solid tube or a hose onto tube fittings? Looks like the PO tried to eliminate induction bias, don't think it would work.
Cheers
